Iâm Nickie (hi, hello!)âa once-bored SAHM with a fine arts degree, two sass-packed tweens, and a talent for overthinking (fueled by way too much coffee). One day, I decided it was time to turn my daydreams into something real.
Now, here we are at the very first Love Issuesâand yes, itâs a pun. đ But itâs more than that. This newsletter is about navigating the ups and downs of chasing dreams, embracing who you are, and learning to love the process (even when itâs messy).
For years, I dreamed of making clothes that felt like me. Imposter syndrome tried to stop me, but I told it to sit down.
Hereâs the tea â: I was born Deaf, and no, itâs not a tragedy. The real tragedies? Crocs with socks. Fine. Microwaving fish at work? Absolutely not. Life threw me some wild cards, but being Deaf? Thatâs my secret superpower.
So, why start a clothing line?
Have you ever looked around and thought, nothing here really gets me? Same.
I was tired of seeing stuff that didnât match my vibe. I wanted something different and funâand wasnât, you know, cringe.
đ Enter: Lovecore Apparel.
Think classic âI Love Youâ (ILY) hand signs in ASL đ¤, but make it modern, make it cool, and sprinkle in a little IDGAF energy.
Now, about that ILY hand signâitâs a big deal in Deaf culture. A symbol of love and connection. Some people call it cheesy (I used to roll my eyes too đ).
But then I thought, why not give it a glow-up? Thatâs how Lovecore was born: with designs that celebrate identity, confidence, and not giving two hoots about fitting in.
Hereâs the real talk:
I spent years trying to prove I was âenough.â Spoiler alert: I already was.
If youâve ever doubted yourself, this is for you. Lovecore is my love letter đ to anyone whoâs ever felt insecure, underestimated, or just over it.
Every piece I create is a reminder to own your story, embrace your quirks, and love yourselfâloudly and proudly.

Lovecore HQ: Whatâs Been Happening
â˘Â First Drop: My debut pieceâa long-sleeved henley topâdropped on Black Friday, and people are loving it. Theyâre calling it comfy, cute, and easy to wear. Itâs limited edition and stock is flyingâonce itâs gone, itâs gone! If you havenât snagged one yet, what are you waiting for?
â˘Â All the Feels: Iâve been absolutely floored by the support. Like, tears-in-my-coffee-cup kind of overwhelmed. Some bold names in the Deaf community even snagged one. Iâm still picking my jaw up off the floor.
â˘Â First Giveaway: Teamed up with the lovely Rach from @suchalovelyred for my first-ever giveaway! Not only was it awesome, but it also helped spread the word about Lovecore. (Thanks, Rachâyouâre a gem!)
â˘Â Second Drop: Socks from the Love Chatter collection! Cozy, cute, and with heartâ$1 from every pair sold went to Off-The-Grid Missions to support Deaf and disabled evacuees impacted by California wildfires. Because giving back? Always in style.
â˘Â Coming Soon: March brings PJ short sets. Whether youâre lounging or snacking in bed (no judgment), theyâre going to be your new fave.
â˘Â Secret Project Alert: Working with a crazy-talented Deaf illustrator on something fresh. I canât spill all the beans just yet, but hereâs a hint: men, youâre gonna love it. Stay tuned.
What Iâm Loving Right Now (Because Sharing Is Caring):
â˘Â TV Show: Shrinking on Apple TV+. Can we take a moment for Harrison Ford? The man is still kicking butt at 82. The show is the perfect mix of laugh-out-loud humor and gut-punch drama. Plus, Jessica Williams (Gabby) is serving killer looks every episode. Her wardrobe? Straight fire.
â˘Â Book: The Dose Effect by T.J. Power. This book is connecting all the dots between lifestyle and brain chemistry. Mood, motivation, well-beingâitâs all there. Total game-changer if youâve ever wondered, âWhy am I like this?â
â˘Â Skincare: Sun & Moo Skincareâs The Beautiful Serum (bakuchiol oil). I slather it on at night, and boomâhydrated, happy skin by morning. Pairing it with The Beautiful One tallow balm has been my savior. Winter skin? Never heard of her.
â˘Â Clothing Obsession: Mother Denim socks. Their cheeky little message is a whole mood. Perfect for those days when everything goes sideways. Letâs just say theyâve become my daily uniform (wink).
â˘Â Sweet Tooth Fix: Spring & Mulberryâs dark chocolate. Listen, itâs basically art: cacao beans, dates, bee pollen, rose petals, lavender. Six ingredients, all organic, and absolutely divine. Itâs almost too pretty to eat. (Almost.)
Whatâs Next?
Look out for the next issue landing in your inbox next month! Iâll share the story behind my first product launch (hint: it wasnât all glitz and glamour). Plus, youâll get a sneak peek at whatâs dropping in March.
Got questions, thoughts, or just want to say hey? Hit replyâIâd love to hear from you!
Thatâs it for now. Thanks for sticking aroundâbig love 𫶠from me to you. Letâs make this ride unforgettable.
XO,
Nickie
